Picked up six chicks about two weeks ago (2 BO. 2 BR. 1 RIR, 1 GSL), and all seem to be developing well, except the wings of one barred rock does not seem to be growing much. All the others wings extend almost to the rear, but this one’s seem to be hardly any larger than they were when we bought them. Also, this one is still smaller than the others. Should I be concerned? Any ideas?

Potentially you received a BRB(Barred Rock Bantam) accidentally? either that or it could be a cockerel... I know that in some breeds the cockerels develop slower than the pullets.

The one I helped hatch out.. Was the smallest, slow, really slow compared to others with wing development..and absolutely a roo
And busy busy boy now..surpassed the others in size too

Also iam freaking cause my latest hatch is over 2 weeks old and all developing feathers same rate..so now Iam paranoid, they could all be Roos..lol

Cause I have no development comparisons..boohoo

I also have a smallish chick just under 3 weeks. I thought it was a black sex link, not one of the blk australorps, because it is all black, the belly too. But there is a white patch on top of it's head and the feather dev is very slow, much smaller than most of the others. Could this be a roo? Do they make mistakes with sex-links?
