My friend just called and her chicken has one leg that is hanging like a noodle, can a chicken survive with one leg? Her comb is torn, but it appears that it isn't going to be a big problem. she also thinks she may have been kicked in the body but of course she has no way to tell for sure:(. It's the leg that she's worried about it appears the break is up high by her body. Could she splint it, or does anyone have any chickens with one leg???????? She's a great little girl and she doesn't want to put her down if she can survive!! Thank you!!

I would try to put the bone back as best you can, and splint it.

I believe chickens can livew/ one leg, but you would need a seperate coop i would think and a lot of extra care. I would rather see her walking around with a limp.

Goodluck
