My girl Carmen is wheezing and struggling to breathe, she was fine this morning and I have no idea what could be wrong! Looked in her throat and no obstruction I could see, breath isn’t sour. Please help I’m afraid she’s not gonna make it from how bad it’s been :( i have a video of it but no idea how to upload

Welcome To BYC

For video, upload to Youtube and provide a link.

Tell us more about Carmen - her age, what you feed, does she lay eggs, what's her crop like, has she or any of your birds ever had respiratory illness, how is she housed, have you added new birds to your flock in the last 30 days?

She’s about a year and a half old and I think she’s been laying a little less the past week. One of my girls had one last year but she made it and hasn’t been sick since. No new birds since I got her; they’re currently housed in an outbuilding with an air filter for good measure after the last girl got sick. Outside in a fenced backyard during the day with plenty of food and water. They currently eat Purina Layena omega-3

How long has she been like this?
It sounds like Stridor to me - generally it's from inhaling feed, sometimes it can happen with respiratory infection when the airways swell or mucous blocks the airway. A lot of times it will resolve on it's own in several hours or by the next day.

Hopefully she will improve soon.

Thank you, i really hope that’s it and she’ll be okay overnight. She was fine this morning when I let them out, but was like this when I came out to put them up for the night. So at least a couple hours now

What made me so scared about it was she made that screaming noise earlier but the Silkie sounds a lot more like her breathing. Thank you, it’s my first time caring for chickens so I’m not familiar with all this yet
I understand :hugs
I'm hoping that she's just fine by morning.

If not, then treating for Gapeworm likely wouldn't hurt, but no need unless it isn't resolved. A bird that has Gapeworm will continue with those noises and decline because they can't eat/drink. Fenbendazole (Safeguard) would be what to use, you can get that at TSC. Dose is .23ml per pound of weight given orally once a day for 5 days in a row. This would also take care of roundworms too.
