One of my cinnamon queens has been very lethargic lately. She is the lowest in the pecking order and has always been rather sickly.... Recently however her comb began to flop over and turn purple on the ends. She hasn't been seen eating or drinking, and just sits in the coop all day, occasionally tipping her head up like she was swallowing something. Seeing this, I felt her crop a little.....there wasn't much in it that I could feel, and when I did this, she starting throwing up light brown liquid everywhere. I was thinking it was sour crop or a crop issue of some sort but I don't know what to make of her comb.....any ideas on what might be going on?? How to make her better again?? Please help!!!

I have little experience with sicknesses. All i can think of for the comb is frostbite, but that is not the case unless it is getting VERY cold where you are. I'll find this link to a bunch of crops issues and send it to you once i find it. Hope she gets better. Can you do pictures of her and the throw up?

How old is she? Do you know when she last laid? What do her droppings look like? How is her weight? Is her breast bone very prominent, or well muscled? Feel her abdomen, below the vent and between the legs, does it feel bloated, water balloon like, or very firm? Compare with another bird that is well, if you aren't sure.

She is about 3-4 years old. I don't know exactly when she last laid, but I'm pretty sure it hasn't been for awhile. Her droppings are very watery, with some urate mixed in. She is very light when I pick her up, but she isn't thin. When I felt around her abdomen, it was really firm.

See how her crop feels first thing in the morning before access to food or water. She may very well have a reproductive problem, which would account for the firm belly. That can also cause the crop to slow or stop. If her belly is bloated, but her breast bone is prominent then she's losing body condition but may still feel heavy due to either fluid or matter building in her abdomen. That also causes pressure on her digestive tract and they have difficulty passing anything.
