One of my black chickens ( there under 2 months) decided to rush at one of the other black chickens and started head bobing and kinda pecked him. I took the the one being attacked out for a chicken time out (Im a teacher, need I say more) and they seemed fine when I put him back. Do I need to worry? Also how many chicks can you keep in a rabbit cage like this http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_HpsW9qLmn10/TJDuP6xnR4I/AAAAAAAAAFU/7ppnHu3MtxM/s1600/cage+layout.JPG? We have 6 in there with 3 extra long perches and the feeder and waterers.

They are establishing peckng order if you take them away in the act it will last longer until they have formed the pecking order of their flock.

For space, my chicks are kept in storage plastic tubs, for the first 3 weeks then moved to the coop into a large plastic kid pool until they are fully feathered then they free range like the other chickens.

Maybe someone who is more experienced with caging would be better to share their experience with you on that.

Unless they draw blood, let them sort it out. They have to sooner or later, just like kids on the playground

Were new to chicken so im not sure on the whole space thing. There under the heat lamp still so Im worried that If I have to seprate them Im gonna have to run out for another lamp. We dont have a coop yet, it should be here in 2 to 4 weeks. once they dont need the heat lamp, they can graduate into the plastic storage tub (with the cool mesh lid, used to be a hamster cage)

I have the heat lamp over my chicks in the plastic tub I have 25 chicks in there all together in tub1 , in tub 2 another 25 and in tub 3 another 22 chicks all have heat lamps on them.
