Help! Chicks want to ESCAPE!

They are all a week old. One had many unsuccesful attempts at jumping out of the brooder. the 4 others are all looking up and I think that they want to escape too. Are they bored or something? How could I cure this boredom? Oh, and they are chirping ALOT too. Can 1 week old chicks get some fresh air or something? Or do they stay in that brooder (adequete room) for their first 6 weeks of their lives?!

1 week olds still need a fairly warm temperature. If its just to stop them from jumping out, put somthing over the top. Cardboard, wire, etc... Maybe put in some sticks or something for them to jump up to to stretch their wings. Just make sure its not above the water! Ya don't want to be cleaning out a ton of poop.

Mine are about a week old too. It's quite funny to watch them jump and flap till I saw one ALMOST make it! They are plotting escape and I have to put a lid on it.
