HELP! Cockerel attempting to mount????

He's a beauty. I'm betting the eggs are fertile. If you want chicks let the hen brood them. In just 5 days the eggs can be candled to see if they are developing or not; especially if the eggs are white or light colored. I have used bantam rooster as young as 4 months and they were fertile.
Fertile? He doesn’t seem to be succeeding at all though, he just falls of her back. Ebony doesn’t squat either, she just walks off. Is there any way of telling if the egg is fertile before it develops? Even if they were, I don’t have an incubator. Ebony is my only hen laying, and while she probably will go broody, I’m not betting on it being soon.

They will stay fertile for up to 21 days after the rooster leaves. So if she layes and 10 days after he leaves it will still be fertile. So you have 21 days after he leaves to get an incubator or make your own. And this applys to all of your hens
