help...cost of raising 200

I have a shoeing client who would like to have us raise 200 quail. (more later).
He will be buying the chicks. I have no idea how much feed it will take to raise them so no idea what to charge him. I would be even happier if my birds would lay enough eggs that I could hatch but I do not even know when my 12 Bob's will ever start laying. Anyone have good idea of cost?

Hatch them too? Or raise from chicks? No clue on food costs, but electricity, labor and time are all worth money as well.

He is planning to buy and have the chicks sent. If it was Japanese Quail I would have plenty....

I would rather hatch them out but would need to add that cost in also.

Somewhere on this list I saw an estimate of feed consumption by quail based on age. I don't remember where but if you did a search you might find it. Add that plus a fudge factor and figure in your time and you would have your basic cost. Profit depends on what you want I reckon. However you do it, you will have to do some figurin.

If this Helps, I feed 100 lbs a week to 150 quail. I feed once a day and go through roughly 100 lbs.
