Am I supposed to put dates on the egg cartons that I sell? What date do I put on the date I collected them or the date that they expire?

If I put the date they expire... when is that??? LOL... Yes, I have lost my mind again. Can't remember.

Thanks in advance!!!

I don't know, Tes. I don't put dates on them. I just say Guaranteed Fresh on my label and if someone asks me, that means that they were gathered within the last week. You would need to define what "fresh" means to you, I guess. You could say gathered between such and such dates, I guess. When they expire depends on how they are stored after the customer gets them home.

I get just as confused, with the dates on stuff I buy - some seem to TRY confuse a person
"Best by"
"use by"
"sell by"

I don't get the SELL BY one, I mean if I buy the item before the sell by and keep it for a MONTH - and its bad, who's fault is it?

Put a SELL BY date on your eggs - LOL.....

Thanks Cyn...

Right now they are just dated with the date they were collected. That is the way I have always done it. I did it that way just to help me keep things right. I guess I will just continue that way... thanks for the help all.

When I put the label on the carton, I write the day on the end of it. Like 6 or 30 or whatever. I don't sell them after the 21st day after that.
