for emergency initial treatment:
always flush out the wound with saline solution using a sterile squirt bottle..
you can get it at Walmart Pharmacy, or other pharmacies..handy to have on hand.
in a pinch, you can make some up with 1 quart water and 1/4 teaspoon salt boiled/simmered for 5 minutes and cooled.
then flush with betadine tea.
don't use peroxide. it tends to degenerate tissue. betadine tea is better. (betadine mixed with a little sterile water.
