So long story short I was given a fetal duck egg from a classmate from a vietnamese market to cook and eat the fetus as a dare (a "balut" egg is a delicacy in their culture). Instead ive been holding it in my hand, bra, shirt, etc for the past week keeping it warm. I have no expirience with this, (im a 19 year old city girl from southern california and ive never even seen a fertilized egg) Its air sac was at the large end but now has gotten larger and moved onto the side a little bit. it almost has an angle to it. is this because my dog rolled it around the other day when i wasnt looking?

I just want to make sure that this isnt going to affect the fetus.
Can use all the help I can get. Thanks guys!

Now that's a fun story!

The air cell starts stretching down the side of the egg a few days before hatch. About the same time, you may start feeling bumps and wiggles and soon, hearing it cheep.

If you can position the air cell up it will help make hatching in these interesting conditions easier and less messy!

Your hand won't really be quite warm enough, it's cooler than the mass of your body.

Balut is 18 days of incubation, most duck eggs are 28 days, so if you've been incubating for 7 days you should be just a couple of days away from hatch.

When i put the egg up to my flashlight on my i phone i see him moving around a lot. Ive been keeping the air sac end facing up. and for warmth, ill be keeping it more in my bra now i guess! hahaha
