I have a 2 year old red golden female pheasant and her eye has been swelling up she walks around fine and acts fine from what I’ve seen the only difference is her eye is swelling up. I have put Vet RX cause I thought maybe it was a respiratory thing but everything seems fine it’s just the eye is swelling up and I don’t know what to do

She needs some antibiotic eye drops. If you have a good relationship with your vet they might let you have some antibiotic drops or ointment. If not, you can try washing the eye first by dropping plain saline eye solution (simple eye wash for people works) into the eye to sort of flush it out, and following that, apply some Triple A antibiotic ointment around the eye, with a sterile qtip or clean finger tip, and it will seep in. You can use the kind for people, as long as it has no pain killer stuff in it. It says in the directions not to use around the eye, but you can, when you are dealing with birds. Do this two or three times a day. It would help for her to be in a hospital pen, away from the flock but where she can still hear and see them...until she recovers. Terramycin eye drops for poultry are available on line also. You might try firststatevetsupply.com...they may have some.
