Have just set up my small 2 bird coop. I have only provided one nest box for both birds. Will a hen lay an egg on top of another egg or will the first egg need to be removed before the second bird lays? Thanks.

One nest box will be enough for at least 4 birds so you should be fine. A hen will indeed lay one egg on top of another. In fact, a lot of people put fake eggs in the nests to encourage hens to lay in them. So you should be good to go!! Good Luck!

Thanks for you help. I have only had the girls about a week and already the eggs are coming regularly. They are growing on me already

our coop has 3 laying boxes for 6 chickens. They share fine. I'll find 2 or 3 eggs in the same box some days:yiipchick
