My empty Hova 1588 was staying between 101, and even up to 102. I then adjusted it down .5 to 1 degree according to the instructions, and its now low 99's. Is this ok for temp? Right now it's 99.2. I have 3 thermometer/hygrometer combos in ther just to make sure my numbers are as accurate as possible. I also have a baby food jar filled with water and the lid is on to help stabilize my temps since the bater is empty right now.
I know humidity is variable, so I have it at 40-45 with the red plug out.... is this ok? Should the red plug be in or out? I've read the chicks need fresh air so I was thinking plug out.

I'm getting ready to incubate some Ameraucanas and some Marans. Yeah... for my very fist hatch. I'm either brave or stupid. Only time will tell. ROFL

The 1588 has a fan right? If yes, then 99 is fine, if no, you should probably take it back up to 100-101. It doesn't really matter at this point if the plug is in or out, at the end is when you need to remove the plugs. It will just make it harder to keep your humidity steady right now.

How long has it been since you adjusted the temp ? I always leave 1 plug out day 1-18 and take the other out on day 18 when I up the hum.

It only has 1 plug... at least thats all I see. LOL
Its a Hova 1588.

Just this morning. It really adjusts temps FAST. Within 30 minutes I see the change.
