Can anyone help me? Our pet duck Daniel got attacked last night by something. He defended his mate but suffered a bald and broken wing. No tail feathers. He does walk but with a limp. He is mute so he doesn't "cry" out in pain. He is not eating drinking or moving much. can tell he is in distress. What meds can I give? What can We do to help him. He is a sweet duck and want to help him if we can. Have put the wing back in place and wrapped it tight to his body. Any suggestions would help.

I am currently nursing a duck that was attacked by a coon so understand how helpless you may feel. Chances are your duck is in shock still therefore the lack of appetite. Keep trying I got mine interested by being persistent with a dropper of water inside her beak - I mixed in a small amount of baby food too. Do you have him separated and in a safe calm environment I think that helps healing. My full post on this site lists all the other things I am doing to help out my duck with her injuries. She is still alive going on the 3rd day now and she is getting better each day. Today she finally drank water by herself when I put the bowl to her beak. Good luck with the healing and keep us updated.
