HELP Found my barred rock full of maggots

Mainly
It sounds like she's in good, competent hands with you. I think the wound will heal if you can keep it clean and keep the flies off of it. How does your clinic treat flystrike? You may want to ask your vet for their opinion.

Mainly hydro therapy and flushing the wound and then preferably keeping them somewhere away from flies while they heal. Sometimes we do antibiotics based on infection. There is a spray for cows called screw worm spray you can coat wounds with to keep them from getting reinfested.

We see a lot of ducks with maggots because people tend to keep them in small spaces where they can't dry out and they muddy and wet and get dermatitis/fly strike.

I spent an entire shift one time picking maggots off a pekin duck.
