OK, one of my 8 month old hens laid this egg today. They have been laying since mid August if it matters. It really freaked me out when I saw it! Is it some type of lash egg? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Was it weird all the way through? What is your weather like? It kinda looks like when mine freeze.

Cut it in half if you haven't already. If it weird and yucky all through then probably a lash egg. If it looks like a normal eggs just kinda crystallized then it could be frozen.

When I cracked it, it looked like a normal egg, but was a little runny. It is not freezing temps during the day yet.

I've had some laid in the night freeze and then take a few hours on the counter to thaw. The white of thawed frozen eggs is a bit runny. If you gathered earlier so you know it was layed durring warmer temps, I'm not sure.

Was the center of that patch solid shell or thin and/or porous?
Probably just a shelling glitch.
Weird eggs happen, as long as they are not frequent/consistent nothing to worry about.
