Okay what am I doing wrong? My chickies are hatching and some are very gummy or sticky I actually had to open bator to help an Ameraucana from being stuck to bottom of bator that is covered with that breathable shelf liner. What am I doing wrong? humiditiy was around 35% till day 18 they I raised it to 65%. I calibrated my hydrometer before so I know that was right. So please help

Birth isn't ever pretty, and that includes chicks. Yes they do arrive out of their shells all ooey gooey, but soon dry off and become the adorable fluffy little fuzzbutts that we so love. Could the problem be with whatever shelf liner you are using, because I don't think that you are doing anything wrong. Just perhaps the combination of ooey gooey chick and shelf liner might be the problem.
