Newbie here!!! Recently hatched gosling has umbilical cord still attached! Also is this normal autonomy? Will this gosling make it?

I have no knowledge or expierience with this, instinct tells me not to try to pull the egg, umbilical away Incase the baby bleeds out, their yolk should be in their abdomen by the time they hatch.

You should place the gosling in a bowl on a dry paper towel and let the yolk absorb by itself, in the bator. How is the gosling doing today?

it’s better the shell is now gone and the stump thing is gone. He isn’t really walking though still seems very weak and wobbly.

I’d see how it’s doing tomorrow and if holding it’s head up try giving some Nutri drench along the bill and see if you can get it to take some. This stuff is awesome and can be given straight. You can also put it in water. Maybe by tomorrow evening it will be ready to drink on its own just dip tip of bill into warm water when first teaching it to drink. Keep us updated!

He was THRIVING today! But we took him to a wildlife refuge to have a chance to survive with other geese or goslings!
