I've had my silkie hen inside the last 2 nights cause she seemed weak. She was getting stronger and more spunky, eating, drinking ,pooping etc. Just found her limp, breathing really hard and slow...thought for sure she was done. Held her upside down to get any fluid out from her nose and lungs, put Karo syrup on her tongue and because she felt really hot I put cold wet paper towels under her wings. She has perked up a tiny bit and held her head up for a min but I don't know what else to do!! Please any suggestions!!

Sorry, it does sound serious. Stop all sources of stress, cold towels and draining her mouth, it risks hurting her more because her heart needs to pump normally, not be in shock.

Have you felt inside for egg bound?
Any lumps in abdomen area or excess water weight?
Any yellow discharge from the vent area?
Signs of parasites?

Still there is nothing obvious yet other than she is really struggling.

Not egg bound, don't feel any lumps anywhere. Her crop did have alittle fluid that I could feel. No sign of parasites and just normal poop stuck to her butt.

Thank you. I have a call into the emergency vet. She's not even a year and I feel helpless

In some ways it sounds like an infection internally that after two nights would be close to irreversibly fatal. But then you said she is perking up, so since its Sunday, I would watch her really closely but leave her resting. No force feeding, only liquids. But if there is an internal problem, anything in her crop will be very slow moving and she'll even vomit it out.

She maybe is dying and a vet is your best option, as they may be the only ones that can save her with antibiotics and maybe some tests.

Does this sound accurate, or do you feel she is standing and walking around on her own?

Last night she was eating an apple and meal worms and harassing my cat. At this moment she's barely breathing ...

Thats good news about eating last night. There is a chance you could treat her with something, but just let her rest and eat privately until you call a vet tomorrow (is that your plan?) Ot could be internal bacterial, internal viral, worms or more.

It sounds like worms right now considering she ate last night. Do you ever deworm? What is her age and is her weight normal?

I'm still waiting for the vet to call, but I don't think she's gonna live that long. She's flat out with shallow breathing. I'm still praying but it's not looking good. Yes I wormed them with wazine last month and I'll put apple cider vinegar in their water evert 2 weeks.
