I'm new to raising chickens I had 3 hens got them all as poullets. one just started laying about 6 weeks ago others haven' yet. I was gone all day yesterday and when I got home I found one dead in the run. I believe it's the one that has been laying and I also noticed the other day a little brownish tan slime poop in the nesting box and today I found another in the coop. The coop and run are secure and I couldn't see any harm to the hen. I did notice more than normal feathers around the run but no harm to that hen either. I'm trying to figure out if it's a disease. I added a picture but it makes it look more red than in real life

Welcome to BYC. Sorry for your loss.A necropsy may be the best way to go to find a cause. Some do their own at home to look at organs, check for egg binding, and take pictures of organs to share here for more help.

You can take in some fresh droppings to a local vet for a fecal test for worms and coccidiosis. The mucusy dropping does look red in the photo. That can be possible with coccidiosis or other intestinal problems. Corid (amprollium) is angood treatment for coccidiosis.
