Help! Hen leaving chicks

My BO has been sitting on eggs for 5 days and before was sitting on unfertile eggs for 2 weeks. Yesterday she got off the eggs for 4 hours then today went off them for over an hour. Is she stopping brooding and are the eggs damaged from not being sat on?

4 hours is a long time for a commited broody to leave the nest.
I think she may be giving up.
My broodys leave the nest once a day for maximum of about 15 minutes.

Why are you trying to brood more eggs? Yesterday you were talking about taking chicks from a broody mom because you have too many birds. Are you addicted?

Since she has been sitting for 3 weeks or so, she may have given up.
If you have an incubator, I'd put the eggs in it. They may still be viable but I wouldn't trust her if she is coming off the nest for such long periods.
