We are on day 3 of incubating, the humidity has been great until yesterday (44%-47%), the temp has been staying around 99.6-99.7
We are using a Brinsea Octagon 20. I was talking to a Brinsea rep about checking humidity, she said I should only have one of the reservoirs with water not both!! So we emptied one and added more to the other. I came into school today and it was at 38%.... (which I am thinking it may have been at all night) so we then added a little more water and a small paper towel touching the one reservoir. Now it is up at 51%.. I took more water out and it back at 48%..... are the eggs okay????
I am new at this so am not sure what to think. Is it okay for the humidity to drop a little and then up a little??? I have heard humidity is the most important so I am a little worried we messed up. I have 24 2nd graders in here hoping so see some chicks in a few weeks.
Any suggestions or answers would be helpful.
Oh yeah, the eggs are a mixed heavy breeder from McMurray.
Thanks
