Help. I have a Britney Spears Pullet

I really don't know what parentage this guy has. He's got aracuna in him cuz he has little muffs on his face and some barred rock and possibly some kind of RIR.... thats why he's so healthy...he's a heinz....

I put in another temporary box in another location of the coop made of an old wooden box.... they used it yesterday. But they still get in together into the same nest.

I went into my coop a few mornings ago and there were 3 hens in one laying box(these are standard sized hens). We have 10 laying boxes, but they all want the same one. There is a line at that magical laying box every day.

I have one black/lav orp hen that is laying in the dirt. I am going to put a small dog crate where she lays and bed it nicely with hay and see if she lays in there. I sure hope so.

Gosh I thought maybe you had some hens that didn't wear no draws!

Give'm a few weeks they will do better with the nest boxes. I have 9 hens -- 4 nest boxes and they all lay in 2 boxes.

For the one that is laying in the floor, I had success in getting hens to lay in nesting boxes instead of the floor by locking them in the nesting box for about a half hour (until they laid) when I caught them laying on the floor. The Buff Orp only took one time but the Australorp took twice before she caught on.
