it has a prolapse penis i just been hosing it with cool water and having him swim.

i dont have vets that take care of birds around me so. all i can do is keep it moist and continue to hose it with cool water:(

i had a male duck way back before that had the same thing and all i did was hose his and it went back in on its own within a few days or months and had no further issues.

Now my new duck male has this issue sighs:( i been doing the hose for him to keep the swelling down and keep it moist.

how long till it goes back in its own or will it just fall off?

again i dont have a vet that does birds. so all i can do is the hose. it worked for my past one before so i presume it will work for my new male duck.

Welcome to BYC. Can you take some pictures of it?
i didnt think i needed to since its a prolapse penis. and i figured most would know what it is with out a pic. do they go in on there own or fall off? cause i had one before that had it and all i did was hose.

plus i cant take a pic now its midnight:(

I do know what one looks like.

Sometimes they go back in on their own, sometimes they fall off, and sometimes they get infected and the duck dies. So this is why I asked to see pictures.

Take some pictures first thing in the morning, then.

In the meantime, I will go look for some pictures so you can see how different they can look.

ok thx and will do

like i said i dont have vets near me that tend to birds. so i guess the only option for me is to keep using the hoses. im not going to attempt to push it back in cause i dont want to cause damage.

cause my other one looked worse then it was and it went back in.

and this one is just a new duck so
