help... i think my chick might die.

my 2 yo daughter did something to my day old chick but i dunno what she did. she brought it to my mom and he wasn't breathing or anything. just limp. well i wiggled him in my hands and he started breathing again. he is breathing fine now but he is just laying on the heating pad all limp but every few minutes he will chirp and kinda jump and open his eyes. he is the only 1 i have out of 11 eggs and i have been fighting to save these chicks since day 5 of incubation period when hen abandoned them. i REALLY REALLY don't wanna lose him. Please tell me what to do if there is anything i can do to save my chick.

I would feed it a little sugar water and some scrambled egg it might boost its energy. Hope it makes it.

did you check the vent area? I had one that was like that with a prolapsed vent. Hope your baby's ok!

he seems to be ok now. i held him on a heating pad wrapped in an old flannel pillow case and talked to him for a long time. he gradually got better. he seems to be back to him old self now other than being a little spoiled. he won't let me put him down. when i do he starts chirping really loud until i pick him up again. i think my daughter may have dropped him and knocked him unconcious as well as knocked the wind out of him. he did eat a few bites of the egg and drink some of the suger water too. thank you all for your concern and quick replies. btw... i put a lock on my bedroom door so the kids can't get near him again.
