There wasn't a hole in the mesh on the playpen.The cat is only guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time

that doesn't matter. A cat is still going to kill 100s of other native birds if it is let go

You have no right to push for an innocent creature to be destroyed.

I sure wish the cat that killed my chicken not long ago wasn’t there to do so

The whole thing is really weird. Are there any gaps at all? In the picture of the mesh thing it doesn’t look like it, but I couldn’t really tell. Where was the chicken? Was she in the middle or right next to the side? If she was right next to the side, that kind of points to something reaching a paw in without completely getting in.

If anything is done with the cat, I believe the first thing should be posting pictures and making sure the cat does not belong to somebody. But, that was a little bit ago, and most likely what was done was done.

On second thought, I guess that depends on where you live. If you live out in the middle of nowhere with acreage and no neighbors, then the cat is most likely feral.
