So early this morning my youngest Corvo wasn’t looking too good, I thought she was egg bound because she has this great big sack under her vent. I’ve been washing her in warm water with Epson salt and olive oil around her vent. The lump is growing bigger and every time I massage the lump a certain way she kind of poops out this yellow nasty stuff… Im not sure what’s going on, she can barely move and she’s very lethargic. 6ECF40C8-48CD-4817-B37B-698932D7AD7C.jpeg

If you feel any mass, or masses in the sack it maybe a hernia. Hernias do produce fluid around the organs between the skin, & broken muscle wall.

Oh, poor thing! Pooping our the nasty yellow stuff makes me think infection. It sounds like ascites, which causes water to build up in the abdomen. There are ways to drain the fluid using a syringe, but my internet is terribly slow right now, and I can't get the search function to work. I hope someone else can help you out, but you can google info about draining ascites (aka water belly) in chickens.

Is there any way that I can help her? I’ve looked up some things about hernia but can’t find nothing. Is there any care treatment?
Are you able to feel anything else inside besides fluid?

Not really much can be done except surgery by a vet, which is both expensive, & risky.

This is the yellow stuff she tries to poo out. I’ve looked some things up for water belly, it says hens over the ages 4-5 get it but she’s only a year and 6 months
