Hi.
I live in a unincorporated part of lee county florida. I've searched for hours for any info on the laws reguarding chickens and livestock in general. I have come up empty.
Maybe someone here lives in my area or is more savy at finding the info then I am.
Thx

I found that also, but I only found a few things that might pertain to chickens.

(a) It shall be unlawful for:
(1) Any animal to make unreasonable disturbing noises, including, but not limited to: barking, howling, whining, screeching or other utterances causing annoyance, discomfort or disturbance of the peace or sleep of a reasonable person(s).

Sec. 6-1. Cockfighting, maintaining cockpits, etc., prohibited.
Any person who shall for sport or gaming purposes, fight or cause to fight any chickens, cocks or other fowl, or who shall maintain, keep or carry on any cockpit or other similar place for the fighting of chickens, cocks or other fowl, or who shall bet, wager or stake any sum of money or other thing of value on the result of any such fight or contest in the county shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to punishment as provided by law.

Other then that I find nothing that might tell me how many or if any chickens I can keep.

I have 15 chicks now. I just wanted to be informed of the laws in case code inforcement or animal control was to ever come.

that is how mine is written also... i figure if people complain the worst that happens is you have to get rid of the roos. alot of these are written kinda loosely but i guess that may be on purpose...
