I have two hygrometers in my incubator which as been running for about 12 hours now with no water in it (except maybe some droplets from being rinsed out) No eggs in it yet. Both are reading 68% (i'm aiming for between 25%-45% as suggested on this site) it just so happens that when I checked the local weather it said it is 69% humidity and will only increase by tomorrow.
I did calibrate both hygrometers yesterday so I'm pretty sure it's accurate.
What should I do? I'd like to get my eggs in today

something does not seem right.

What are your hygrometers reading outside the incubator? What is the room temp?

Though not exact, you should get a decent differential between ambient humidity and the humidity inside the bator just by adding heat.

My more sensitive Hygrometer (meant for incubating) has dropped to about 56% now, the other (slower responding) hygrometer is at about 67% I'll take the slow responding one out to compare room humidity to the incubator, will take some time though

the residual water from cleaning it may be evaporating too. remove both plugs till you put the eggs in. it may help

good luck

Thank you, looks like the humidity has dropped to about 45% you were probably right about the excess water from cleaning.
