I have one duckling that was a rescue, about two weeks old. It has been trying to 'swim' in its half inch of drinking water.

I am wanting to get him to play in the water, so he is used to it. How should I go about this? All I've had is chickens. *ha*

Uh! Wish I'd known that, I've been dieing to let him swim! Thanks Katy

I'm going to candle eggs right now and then see how he likes the water. I will let you know how it goes.

Just make sure he doesn't get chilled and waterlogged...if they get water logged they can drown. As long as he has his heat lamp to dry out under he'll be fine.

I couldn't find anything big enough for him, so I filled the sink. I don't think he liked that his feet didn't touch. He only went in twice, and I didn't push it. He was so happy in my lap afterward! Clark came home in his police unifom and it scared the duckling, though. *haha*
