Help..Is this normal for hatching egg?

Hi all. I have two eggs incubating. They are on day 20. I came home to one pipped but it’s beak looks stuck and there’s blood. Is this chick in trouble?? I don’t see any sign of movement.

I would leave it alone. He is probably resting and will keep trying off and on.

When I came home from work it was around 65. I added a wet paper towel in there and it’s now up to about 70%

Leave him be! I’ve had 60 hours from pip to hatch (in quail), it is hard to wait but you’ll cause more harm than good at this point (especially with blood, means the yolk sac vessels haven’t atrophied and the abdomen is still open!).

When he breaks out more, that'll raise it up more too, maybe even fogging the incubator cover, but that's okay.

Thank you. This is my second time hatching eggs. And I didn’t see any blood last time. So it made me nervous. Hopefully the baby will be okay.
