Hi everyone :) Can anyone help me to sex my ducks? I have 2 ayelsburys and a khaki campbell but not sure if I have females or drakes.

Here are some pictures:

Thank you :)

Agreed, they all look like hens.

Drakes will have (I think) two curled tail feathers. Here's a picture of my drake's tail when I first noticed it.

Wait, six weeks old? I think they're too young to show the drake feathers, then... But I can't remember what age my drake's tail feathers curled. Definitely older than six weeks! Lol.

Thank you, im only really asking because we want to buy a drake but don't want to end up with more than one. I'm pretty sure that these three are females but if we did end up with 2 drakes would they fight?

Well, it really depends on the drakes' personalities. I have a friend who successfully houses two drakes and three hens. The hens aren't overbred by the drakes (last I heard, anyway; we haven't spoken in a while) and the drakes don't fight. They did at one point, but my friend separated the aggressive drake for 24 hours. When re-introduced, he was much calmer. Two of the hens went with him, and one hen went with the other drake. In that way, they sort of sorted themselves out after aggressive drake was forced to seclusion for a day.

Of course, if they do get aggressive and competitive, you could always just buy more hens! Haha. (:

Any luck with getting them to quack for you? My ducks are 5-6 weeks and we are starting to get really recognizable noises out of them... Female quack vs the more raspy male sound. We have a couple that are still peeping and a couple that are quacking/rasping consistently. Are you hearing anything like that?
