Ok I have RIR and love the breed but I want to some how breed in broody-ness. I was thinking about crossing with a orpington . active, good foragers are important to me as well as being a good egg layer. Would a orpington be a good choice or are their any better ????? Also does anyone have experience with a hatchery stock of RIR that turn out to be good brooders ????
