I want to offer a knitting course for kids 10+ in my homeschooling group but I am lost as to what sounds right for length of time for meetings and how many.
I want us to make a simple dishcloth. I want to cover casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, and binding off.
I will be providing all needed materials.
Originally I was thinking about doing 4, one hour long classes. Now I think that might be too much because I'm planning to have the kids take their projects home during the week to do their "homework" of like 10-12 rows of knitting. Seems like after the long first and last class the other two might just be me adressing any problems and checking out their work. I was also thinking of filling the time in with some info about different yarn types and how yarn is made both in a factory and at home with fiber animals.
Any ideas or opinions?
I am thinking a max of 6 students and I will provide refreshments as well. The classes being from 3pm-4pm or 4pm-5pm (too close to dinner time?)...
