Hi,
I am an ER veterinary technician and a chick was surrendered at my hospital tonight because the owner thought it had been injured and needed to be euthanized. Upon inspection it appears to be suffering from wry neck. Whether the cause is from an injury, vitamin deficiency or neurologic issue is unknown but I have decided to give it a chance and see if it recovers. Meanwhile, I'd like some feedback on possible breeds. I know my pictures aren't the best but it's hard to get good ones when the head is falling to the side, the back or upside down so I did the best I could. The comb (what little there is) looks like it may be a rose comb but it's hard to tell. The age is unknown but if I had to guess I would say 3-4 weeks old. Thanks for your input!
