Well, actually, I'll do the painting. I just need ideas on WHAT to paint on my coop. It is a blank canvas just begging to be painted.

Keep in mind that my painting skills are beginner level at best. I briefly considered painting a peacock in full display until I looked at a picture of one and was stunned by the complexity of it. Maybe I could do a NBC peacock...

My painting skills are beginner at best too... which is why I resort of simple geometric designs: plaids, stripes, dots, checks, squiggles. Stylized flowers. Or words, phrases.

If you find an image you would like to depict -- say a house, a tree, free range chickens, a sunset, do it in silhouette. Black, no details.

You can even do any configuration of all of these.

Another idea is to find some fancy molding to go all the way around the back of that building, like a frame and paint a Grandma Moses sort of scene inside.

Just let your brains relax... it will come to you.

I was thinking about doing vines and roses on the side of mine. The trim color is the same as the trim on my house (leftover from the house paint and makes it look good). Maybe a chicken-y quote.
