Hi all. This is my first two weeks starting my journey with backyard chickens and ducks. I have two older ducks and chicks that are around 4 weeks old, I’m guessing. (I have to find a chart on size for age) and 3 Rhode Island Reds that I picked up Sunday at Tractor Supply. I don’t know how old they are and I’m trying to figure out sexes. I have an educated guess (bout the best I can do at this point of the game lol) as to what sex each is but I’m hoping for some better eyes :). I can try to take better/more pictures if needed and theyll have it. What do you think?

It is a bit early to tell the sex. The cockerels will start to develop red combs around the age of 4-6 weeks. I would guess your chicks are about 1-2 weeks old.
Thank you 😊 I know it’s easier to tell as they get older but I’m (and the whole family) are of course curious

The best I could get at the time were of the backs and the beaks. The combs are kinda spiky. Humor me with your guess on little chicks a,b and c, if you don’t mind :-)

:welcome :frow It's too early to tell. They look to be a few days old. If they were straight run you have a 50/50 chance for male/female. Most TCS stores have sexed chicks which would be 90% female with a 10% chance one will be a male. Good luck and have fun with you new little flock...
