Help Me Sex My Orpingtons....!

I've become a lover of chickens. They are fabulously affectionate, curious, warm little birds. I have 8 chicks - 2 Australoops, 2 Brahmas, 2 Americaunas & 2 Orpingtons. So far, I know that I have 2 roosters. But...I cannot figure out the sex of my orpingtons...so, as a newbie, I too would appreciate your thoughts...I'm posting some pics - but they wouldn't keep still for the pose! If anyone can take an educated guess as to the sex of these 4 week old chicks, please do so....

with the photos you have I say pullet but Can't see The combs very well it may still be to early to say definately!

I'm smiling...they really wouldn't keep still. I'll post some more pics. Let's hope they're female...my roosters will be moving to another community.

We have 19 BO that are the sweetest girls around, i did not know you could fall in love with a chicken but I have with 19!!!

Wow...how can you keep up with loving 19 chickens!? I just left the brooder...where 2 of the 8 asked to sit with me. Both 4 weeks old - one an Orpington, the other an Americanaus - sitting in my lap while I stroked the Americanaus' head while the Orpington rolled over so that I could rub her belly! This belly rubbing is a new thing...just started today. Meanwhile, I'm feeling guilty because there are 6 chicks looking at me from the brooder, wondering when they're going to get their turn. And you have 19!!! My Dad built me the nicest coop....it can only accommodate 10 - so I'm forced to keep it small! Here's a pic - the wire walls are not attached yet because I have to get a truck load of sand to go in there....I hope they like it!

Oh I am sure they will love it!! And it is really easy to love all 19, I sit on a log and they crowd around me and on me (

) each of them get thier lovin and then they wander off to eat bugs or greens, plus my husband and our four boys go out and do the same so they really get spoiled!!!

I like your coop. And that sure looks like a Newfoundland backyard with all the rocks. My husband was born in Grand Falls and raised in Deer Lake.

Thank you! I'm in love with my coop...& yes...this is definitely a Newfoundland garden! It's a small world...it always amazes me how Newfoundlanders can always find one another...Although it's spring, it's still pretty chilly. I've read that I cannot put my chicks outside until the temperature doesn't get below 65 degrees - this concerns me as this may not happen until mid-June! Meanwhile, I'll have chickens that are flying out of the brooder all over the spare bedroom....I really hope it warms up soon...

Cooly, I suppose I'm a Newfy by blood, but not by geography. I have family all around the Trinity Bay area.
