I got my new babies in yesterday, and they are so cute (pictures below).
My problem is I have a MEAN baby!!
My Dark Brahma goes around picking/pulling on the other babies. Not like she/he is picking at shavings or something, but he literally grabs the fuzz and starts pulling like a dog playing tug of war (he ain't playin either) !!! Really concerning when he does it at their eyeballs... But that isn't his only place, eyes, wings, butts, don't matter... And he isn't choosy which ones he gets.
Sooo, last night I sectioned him off
and gave him a mirror and a stuffed animal (he don't like it) and he CRIED AND CRIED AND CRIED
I can't keep him like this...
DH thinks it's my fault and he learned it from the older babies. I have them sectioned off in the same brooder, and I put an oven rack in there so that during supervised visits the babies could go back and forth. My older ones (4-6 wks) aren't aggressive with each other (the feather picking is another issue after watching for HOURS) However, during one trip on the other side, this Dark Brahma did get picked on by a BSL and it had to get brought back to his side. After that, the dark brahma would go to the big chicks side and play "nanny nanny noo noo" and run back to his side. Then he started getting defensive and actually starting picking at them. Anyway, DH says I made him aggressive by introducing him to the big babies too early. He is mad at me, and I am sad because I have a cute baby that is crying and all by himself....
Any ideas on what to do????
