HElP mommy burd pecking chick

My button quail keeps pecking her newborn babies feet and now theirs a big lump of blood on his tiny foor what should i do ????

The mom will know if something is wrong with her baby. if she sees something out of the ordinary, she will most likely want to check it out by pecking at it. Put some antibiotic ointment on the bump, but make sure it doesn't have pain reliever in it. did she hatch the baby herself or did you hatch the egg in an incubator?

Try providing feed and water close to her. First time mothers are not always smart.

She hatch it herself it is her only baby out of the batch and she mostly does this when shes feeding im not sure if she thinks his little toes is food

that makes sense. they are curious. if this is her first, I can see how she may be confused. keep an eye on the bump!
