HELP-Mosquitos swarming my hens, would it be unsafe to use repellant?

I thought I could spay some OFF onto my hands a put just a dab or two by their combs to try to give them some relief.
My BA especially, is bothered by them, constantly trying to shake them or scratch them away.
The mosquitos are horrible and they can't get away from them!

I've had good luck with citronella plants. I believe it's a form of geranium? I was having an awful mosquito problem near my front door- I stuck one of those out there and now I don't have any. I would try to plant a few around your coop.
