HELP! Mother hen stepped on hatching chick!

One of my hens went broody a while ago and finally had success! It's day 22 and I checked this morning and she had two pips. When I came back later, she had an egg that had been crushed. The chick is still peeping inside. What do I do?

spray with warm water & peel slowly otherwise the dry membrane will stick to the chick. Good luck

Your responses were too late I left the chick, hoping it would hatch on its own and when I came back, it had in fact hatched on its own but was dead. A tiny bit of yolk had not been obsorbed. So sad!

So sorry, if all the yolk hadn't been absorbed, even if you helped with the hatch it may have not made it. Animal husbantry can be "cruel", again sorry for your loss.
