Help! Moving chicks outside

So I found this beauty on craigslist for $10 and made a few modifications for a door and lid. I was planning on moving my 2 week old chicks into it. They will be outside but with a large heat lamp. Will they be warm enough? I'm in central California and right now the lows at night are barely getting down to about 40*. I just don't want them to freeze but I have 13 and they are getting to big for the cardboard box!!

If it's any consolation this is chicks on the inside of the building.




This is the outside of the building. No heat or insulation other than the hover with heat emitters.



Nice find for $10 by the way. The labor is worth that.

Yes after the $.97 in hinges and spare chicken wire I had laying around the whole thing cost a whopping $11!!! I was pretty excited!
