One of my BO's went broody, and my roo hasn't been covering the hens very well. Do I have time to order fertile eggs and put under her? I have many nest boxes, so moving her isn't an issue.

They will stay broody for a while I had one went broody and I had her on golf balls and the crappy eggs till the good ones came in and then put the good ones under her /I did this with my last broody and it works - get some eggs and give them to the girl

The rooster is a BO also, but he is in with about 20 hens. Ever since I sent several roos to chicken camp, I rarely find a fertilized egg. If I would have thought about one going broody I would have kept the rooster/hen ration higher to ensure fertilization. This guys days are numbered, but I am waiting until the young roos are old enough to go out with the flock. Off to find some fertilized eggs!

the ratio you have shouldn't be an issue. a fella i buy hatching eggs off has 1 rooster in with 48 hens and every time all eggs but 2 or 3 are fertile with a 90%hatch rate
