Help my baby peacocks won't quit crying

I have 3 baby peachicks. They are a week old, healthy, eating, pooping. But they don't quit crying unless I pick them up. They crawl in my hair and go to sleep. What do I do? This just started yesterday when I got home from work!. Sometimes if you just stand by the cage they quit. Any suggestions?

You might get a better answer in the pea fowl forums. Sounds like they think you are their mom. Turkey poults are the same way if handled a lot. I have read some people use a feather duster as a substitute mom. Otherwise I ignore my turkey poults complaints, and try not to get them bonded on me too much to avoid them being so dependent on me. It can be a fine line between friendly and too friendly for some young poultry.
