help my pheasents are eating there eggs

I've always had luck with nest boxes raised some off of the floor, in a darker corner, and keep 2-3 plastic eggs in the nest box(es).

ok I will try that if not I will get the recipes

thanks

Try putting blinders on them. I had an egg eater this spring and tried the hot-sauce-in-the-egg method and all she did was ask for chips!

The blinder has stopped her for now. Hope it stays that way.

You won't need to use blinders. No telling what side effects you'll have to deal with ( chronic sinusitis for one) later. Try filling the enclosure with material from the woods nearby your house. Pine needles work, old leaves and bring down the ambient light in the aviary anyway you can. Try stapling a tarp over one side of the aviary ceiling. Forest birds don't nest in places where their eggs are even visible naturally. What works for me best are foragecakes. Ask your feedstore if they carry them. One foragecake will last a pair of birds about two months maybe more gives them plenty to do and optimizes their nutrition.

i had the same problem i had my pheasants in a flight pen but didnt think they were laying because i never seen eggs. I fineally caught the hen eating them. After trying a few things i built each trio a cage 3 ft by 2 ft by 2 ft on a 2 inch slope with the floor 6 inches longer and folded up at end to catch eggs. In other words just a big breeder pen that the eggs can roll out before they can eat them. Been picking 2 eggs a day from each trio for a while now. once i get enough babies i will put some back in flight pen but for now im more worried bout my harvesting

Have you tried putting out wild bird seed cakes or foragecakes?
A wild bird seed cake - if its hard enough will last a trio of pheasants~ 4 days.
An optimal foragecake is a really hard brick of feedstuffs. It will last a trio of pheasants ~ three weeks.
