Help...need advice!

I have barred rock and white rock hens that are 1-1/2 yrs. old, and are currently laying. I have a friend who is wanting to purchase some of my older hens, but I don't know what a fair asking price is...any suggestions?

Around here (upstate NY) a laying hen is worth about 4-7 dollars.

I wish I could help you but your prices are very different to ours.
wow, you guys should come and live here.
We get $15. for a point of lay pullet.
$40- $100 for show quality silkies and heck knows what the other fancies get!!
My mallard ducks get $40 each too.

I just sold 5 White Rocks that were about the same age for $5 each.

It really does vary with your market. I sell point of lay pullets for $10, but the feedstore sells them for $20 each.

Well, heck, I paid $7 each for my 11 wk old pullets. We got 13 and did not even get a break, but that was okay because they were healthy organically grown pullets. I guess

Thanks!!!! Ended up getting $20 for 4 laying hens and 2 roos. Not great, but better than having to "thin" the older production hens.
