MY welsummer hen has had a swollen eye which is totally closed. I bought human eye solution to rinse it...then bought Vetericyn ophthalmic gel which I have been using unsuccessfully for days. It looks terrible when i open it to put the gel in. I have no idea what to do next? Please any ideas will help. She is eating and drinking but has been sitting on my lap sleeping. I have seen here sleeping around the yard. I assume she must be in pain. I do not see any oozing, just a severely swollen and closed eye that looks very sore.
