I have 2 hens that are 3-4 years old and basically pets now. One of them hasn't been acting like she feels good. She's had loose stools for 3-4 weeks and now she isn't eating good. Today I picked her up to examine her rear end and held her head down, and all this iiquid ran out of her mouth. What was that all about? She seems weak now too. I wormed both of the girls about a month ago with Enda-worm. I let them free range alot. Her stools are greeen, yellow and white colored. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds like a crop problem. Do a search on this site using those words and you'll see all the previous discussions about it. Some of the links have really good info. Please treat as soon as you can. Holding her upside down probably did her some good. I just recently lost a hen with similar symptoms, I don't think I noticed fast enough. Good luck!

It sounds similar to what was going on with my hen. I hope it is not. Her crop was swollen as well as below her vent. I noticed she was sick this morning..I isolated her and tried tending to her but we went out for dinner when I came home she had passed away.

I called a vet today and explained my hen's condition and she said there wasn't much I can do for her. As to the liquid running out her; that wil lhappen to any chicken if they have recently drank. It's what was in their crop an it will run out if you turn them upsidedown. The vet thought with her age, she has seen the same thing with her hens and they eventually will die. Sad.
